Annie Nimmo

PILATES

Annie began practicing Pilates as a teenager under the direction of Jenny Jennings, founder of Alotapilates. She returned to Pilates during her dance career after experiencing numerous injuries and having little success with other treatments. After consistent Pilates private lessons Annie finally healed her injuries, and moreover, became less injury prone, as well as a stronger dancer overall. When performance opportunities halted amongst the Covid-19 epidemic, Annie turned her focus to Pilates and becoming the best instructor she could be. She is comprehensively certified through the prestigious Balanced Body training curriculum. Annie is fortunate to also have had in depth mentoring from her former teacher Jenny Jennings, master instructor in classical Pilates. Annie loves having been trained in both contemporary and classical Pilates and incorporates both in her teaching.

In the last four years Annie has taught the Pilates Method to over 200 different bodies. She has over 2000 hours experience teaching large group, small group, and private sessions at Club Pilates, Life Time Fitness, and her own Pilates business, Pilates with Annie. She always strives to grow and learn more, and in February 2024 she completed an integrative movement and central nervous system course with The Embodied Institute.

Annie integrates her lifelong training and knowledge in ballet and movement to her Pilates instruction, as well as the unique knowledge she acquired through her own physical therapy and recovery from numerous injuries as a professional dancer. Annie learned about the importance of correct alignment and muscle engagement for the health of one’s body at a young age and shares all she can with her clients.
